Upon arrival to Cairo International Airport, our representative will meet you and assist with passport control, luggage and customs. Then in a private air conditioned vehicle, you will be transferred to your hotel in Cairo.

Overnight in Cairo

(8:00 am) After breakfast at the hotel, your Egyptologist will meet you and take you to tour The Great  Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Chephren, Mykerinus), followed by a visit to the Valley Temple, and then to see the enigmatic symbol of Egypt, the Sphinx.

We’ll stop for lunch, and then drive to visit the Cairo Museum which houses more than 120,000 historical objects. Our focus will be more on the treasures of the Boy King Tut Ankh Amon, but we will also discuss some interesting objects from different periods of ancient Egypt. Before heading back to the hotel, we will drive to the Khan El Khalil Bazar to walk through and partake in some shopping.

Overnight in Cairo

Meals: Breakfast & Lunch (Included)

After an early breakfast, we’ll head to Cairo International Airport to catch our flight to Luxor (one hour). Upon arrival you’ll be transferred to your 5 Star cruise boat. Check into your room and rest up for the evening (or around sunset) when you will visit the beautiful temple of Luxor and experience its glory at night.

Overnight in Luxor

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (Included)

Today is a big day. After breakfast we will visit the west side of the Nile where we have the best living history of Luxor. We start with the Valley of the Kings, where 64 pharaohs and nobles of the New Kingdom had their tombs cut into the side of the mountains. Your Egyptologist will pick the best 3 tombs to visit (per the entrance ticket).

We’ll then make our way to see the uniquely designed, impressive 3 story temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Although not the first of its kind, it is the only one still standing. Historians initially thought she was murdered by her stepson, but new researches prove this was totally wrong.

Onward to visit the village of the workers who cut the tombs of the pharaohs and built the temples for gods. The village is interesting to visit and see the tombs they cut for themselves and to witness how well the scenes and paintings are preserved.

We will make our way back to our boat and start to head south to Edfu City through Esna. Don’t forget to view your surroundings from the upper deck!

Overnight in Edfu

Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (Included)

Aside from visiting the most well preserved temple in Egypt from the Greco-Roman time, you’ll enjoy the horse drawn carriages that we use as transportation. Edfu temple or Horus Temple is dedicated to the falcon god Horus. You will be amazed by the artistic walls, scenes and Hieroglyphic writing. The temple tells the captivating story of Horus, Osiris, Isis, Nephthys and his Uncle Seth.

Continue south to the small town of KomOmbo, home to a small double temple dedicated to two gods, Sobbek the Crocodile and Horus the Falcon. It’s a chance to see another lit up temple at night. Furthermore, you will see the ancient Egyptian calendar, and learn about certain tools that we think were either used as medical instruments or even for rituals. Afterwards we’ll head back to the boat.

Overnight in Aswan

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (Included)

Today we visit the major sites of Aswan and the unfinished obelisk. The obelisk is the largest one weighing over 1000 tons and aside from two large cracks, is still a part of the granite quarry once used by ancient Egyptians.

The highlight of Aswan is Philae temple or Isis temple. Isis is a main goddess of Egypt, goddess of Magic and Love. We’ll take a small boat to the island on the Nile where the temple is built and will return to the cruise afterwards.

In the afternoon you get the chance to visit one of the Nubian villages to see their life and learn about their culture, language, food etc. (An optional tour.)

We recommend in the evening to walk through the Aswan Market.

Overnight in Aswan

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner (Included)

After breakfast you will be transferred to Aswan airport and fly to Abu Simble to learn about the Abu Simble temples, which by some Egyptologists are considered one of the great wonders of the world since the two temples were cut into the mountain. Although these two temples were moved from their original place while building the high dam, the great temple of Ramses II personifies the glory of the pharaoh because still to this day in February 22nd and October 22nd the sun illuminates the statues inside of the temple. The second temple was dedicated to his beloved wife Nefertari, and Goddess Hathor as well.

Now we fly back to Aswan and then drive back to the Nile cruise where the boat will start returning north.
